I was honored to have been chosen to join this year’s Back to School challenge.  Campus Book Rentals supplied 85 Bloggers with $25 each to fill a backpack full of supplies and donate it to a child.  What a blessing this is and I love being apart of it.   I live in a small rural town without many places to shop but I managed to fill a backpack and make a child very happy.

Here is what I bought:

SANUS and Safe Kids Worldwide Team Up

SANUS and Safe Kids Worldwide have joined together to bring awareness to injuries caused by flat screen TV’s.  Due to increasing size and new ultra thin designs, today’s flat panel TVs can easily tip over when bumped or pulled, toppling off of furniture and causing injury or even death.

A 2011 US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) report on flat panel TV safety revealed:

· A child is killed every three weeks from an unsecured TV

· Every 45 minutes a child visits an emergency room due to a TV tip-over related injury

· Between 2000 and 2011, 215 fatalities have resulted from TV tip-over

· An estimated 17,000 people each year, the majority of which are children, are treated for injuries from TV tip-overs

· Reported cases have increased almost 25% from 2006 to 2010, and over the last 10 years, injuries have increased by 31%

SANUS TV Mounting Tips:

· Easy 1, 2, 3 installation with a wall template to ensure even placement

Online video walkthrough of simple installation available at any time

No additional tools necessary – all required installation hardware is included in package

Live customer support available 6 days a week

Birthday Cards For A Very Special Boy

I wanted to take a few moments to tell you about a special little boy name Kaydyn. I have known his family personally for 7 years.

Kaydyn is a precious, sweet, smart, caring, loving, tough little boy.

Kaydyn was diagnosed with an astrocytoma brain tumor that is non operable at 9 months old. He also has hydrocephalus and now has a shunt.

When Kaydyn was 3 and anyone asked how old he was he would say “I am 3 but I wanna be 5″

Kaydyn will be turning 5 on August 16th but his family has decided to celebrate his birthday the whole month of August.

They are asking for people to make this birthday a special one for this special young man by sending him birthday cards. Kaydyn is so excited that he has decorated a box to fill with the birthday cards he receives.

You can send cards to

Kaydyn Smith
PO Box 83
Buffalo Valley, TN 38548

He also has a Caringbridge site if you would like to keep up with him and his battle.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read about this awesome little boy! Please feel free to share this on your page the more cards he gets the more special of a day he will have!

Making Choices!

Choices!  We all have to make them.  I worry about the BIG choices I have to make and run to God for his guidance  but what about the small choices?  I often leave God out!

God wants to be included in every choice we make.  The BIG, the small and even when we don’t choose at all.  He wants us to ask his advice, let him lead us.  I can not count the times I have ran to the store and bought something that I really did not need and if I would have just talked to God I could have saved myself a trip back to the store to return the item.

Proverbs 3:6
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

The Bible tells us if we will just acknowledge God he will help us.  My prayer for you this week is that you will seek God in all of your choices.  Let him lead you even in the small ones.   I think God would love to go couponing with you this week!

Do you Plan?

Are you a planner? Do you plan what you will wear, what  you’ll eat, and what you’ll do for the day. I tend to plan my day the night before right after my evening prayers. I never think twice about those plans, never wonder if they line up with what God has planned. Many, many times I get frustrated if my plans don’t go the way I planned.

While planning this week’s devotion I was led to Proverbs 19:21 Many are the plans in the mind of a man,
but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.  How fitting it was for me.

Regardless of how many plans I make God’s plan will stand.  I’ve seen it time and time again, my plans go array and when I think back over the day I can see how God’s plan for my day did not agree with mine.   In the end God’s purpose stood.  My life would be so much easier if I seek God before making my plans.

My prayer for you this week is to let God lead you in your plans so that your plans do not go array.

A love Like No Other!

I was reading an email this week that really struck a chord in me and inspired me to write this for our Sunday post. It made me realize the depth of God’s love for us and I really want to share it with you.

You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.” Psalm 56:8b (NLT)

God loves us so much that he collects our tears in a bottle and each tear is recorded in his book.  I know my Hubby loves me but he does not count my tears nor does he record them in a book.   We all need to be reminded from time to time just how deep God’s love is for us and that there is NO OTHER love as great or unconditional.

When people disappoint or hurt me it is comforting to know that I can take that to God, that he counts my tears as they fall and loves me through it all.  No matter where we are in life God is right there.  My prayer for you this week is to realize how important you are to God and know how deep his love is for you.   Take time and think on the scripture and feel God’s love today.
